A new Drive-Thru for Lindsayfield
We are in the process of bringing forward proposals for a new McDonald’s Drive-Thru restaurant on land at Morrison’s Lindsayfield, in East Kilbride, which will deliver new jobs and investment.
We are committed to listening to the views of the local community and want to hear your feedback on our emerging proposals for the site.
About our public consultation
As part of our commitment to community engagement, we are currently hosting a public consultation to enable members of the local community to view and comment on our emerging proposal for a new Drive-Thru restaurant located on land currently occupied by carparking at Morrison’s Supermarket in Lindsayfield.

Quick facts about McDonald’s in South Lanarkshire
Supporting the local economy

Supporting local jobs
McDonald’s provides 600 jobs in our restaurants across South Lanarkshire.
Creating new jobs
Our new Drive-Thru restaurant will create up to 120 new jobs, in a range of full and part time roles.
Our position on littering
Littering is an offense. We are unhappy when customers choose to dispose of their litter irresponsibly. We do everything we can to encourage people to make the right choices when throwing away McDonald’s packaging and want to work with residents, tidy groups and Councils to tackle this issue together.
Providing access to free football sessions
McDonald’s provides hundreds of free football sessions in partnership with the Scottish FA and delivered by our team of fully qualified coaches across the UK. We’ve set a target of providing 10 million hours of fun football until 2026.
Supporting local services
If approved, our new Drive-Thru restaurant will generate between £50,000 and £60,000 in business rates (per year) for South Lanarkshire Council to help fund key local services.
Supporting Communities
In Scotland, McDonald’s and our franchisees have recently established the ‘McDonald’s in the Community’ foundation, donating thousands of pounds, raised via the carrier bag charge, to local charities. Recent beneficiaries include Neil’s Hugs Foundation, Kidney Kids Scotland, The Falkirk Foundation, and St Andrew’s Hospice.
