McDonald’s is bringing forward plans for a new drive-thru and restaurant, off Hazelwell Lane in Stirchley.

About our public consultation

McDonald’s is committed to meaningful community engagement. On this website, you can learn more about our proposals for Stirchley and let us know what you think. 

Our consultation period will run between Tuesday 12th November and Tuesday 26th November, during which time you will have the opportunity to view the proposals and have your say by providing comments on this webpage.

You can also visit us, to learn more about the proposals, and provide feedback at our in-person event on Tuesday 19th November 2024 between 14:00 and 18:00 at Stirchley Baths, 2-4 Bournville Lane, Stirchley, B30 2JT.

We will carefully review all feedback received before finalising and submitting a planning application to Birmingham City Council.

Supporting local jobs

McDonald’s provides 1,142 jobs in our restaurants across Norwich, and 15,983 jobs in the East of England.

Creating new jobs

Our new Drive-Thru restaurant will create approximately 120 new jobs, in a range of full and part time roles.

Keeping the local area tidy

We have organised a number of community litter pick in Norwich, collecting over 40 bags of rubbish.

If approved, we will undertake a minimum of three daily litter picks at our new Drive-Thru to collect all litter in the vicinity, not just McDonald’s packaging.

Supporting local sports clubs

We are proud to sponsor a number of sports clubs across Norwich, including Norwich Rugby Club and Wymondham Rugby Football Club.

Supporting local services

If approved, our new Drive-Thru restaurant will generate between £50,000 and £60,000 in business rates (per year) for Norwich City Council to help fund key local services.
