A new McDonald’s for Stirchley
Stirchley has long been an area where we have been keen to invest, and we remain committed to bringing forward a high-quality new restaurant for the local community. Our revised plans for a new drive-thru restaurant on the corner of Pershore Road and Hazelwell Lane in Stirchley, Birmingham, are available to view on this website.
The new restaurant represents a great opportunity to enhance local food choice and provide new jobs for local people, while revitalising a vacant site that currently detracts from the appearance of the surrounding area.
The consultation
As part of our commitment to community engagement, we are currently hosting a public consultation to enable members of the local community to view and comment on our emerging proposals.
On this website, you can view our proposals and share your comments with us directly. The deadline for submitting feedback is midnight, 20th July 2026. We will carefully review all the feedback received before submitting a planning application to Birmingham City Council.

Revitalising a vacant site
Repurposing a currently vacant and visually unappealing site into a new, modern restaurant, enhancing the appearance of the local area with new tree and shrub planting.
Creating new jobs
The creation of around 100-120 new jobs, offering flexible full-and part-time roles and clear pathways to management.
Enhancing local food choice
A new restaurant would complement the options available in the local area, rather than competing with them.
Supporting local services
Delivery of an estimated £50,000 to £60,000 per year in business rates payable to Birmingham City Council, helping to fund key local services.
Locally owned and operated
Like 90% of our restaurants, McDonald’s Stirchley would be operated by a local franchisee, committed to supporting the surrounding community.
Litter picking
McDonald’s will undertake a minimum of three daily litter patrols to collect all litter within a 150m radius of the site, creating a cleaner local environment.
