A new restaurant for Cheadle
We have now submitted proposals for a new McDonald’s restaurant in Cheadle to Stockport Council. If approved, our plans will bring a vacant site into use and deliver new jobs and investment.
Our pre-application public consultation has now ended. Once our planning application has been validate by Stockport Council, you will be able to submit your comments directly to the planning department.

Creating opportunities for young people
Our apprenticeships programme has already given over 19,500 people a flying start to their careers since 2006. We’re now increasing our ambitions to ensure that, as with all our employment opportunities, our apprentices will be representative of the communities in which we serve.
Creating new jobs
Our new restaurant will create approximately 100-120 new jobs, in a range of full and part time roles.
Keeping the local area tidy
We have organised a number of community litter picks in Stockport, collecting hundreds bags of litter.
If approved, we will undertake a minimum of three daily litter picks at our new restaurant to collect all litter in the vicinity, not just McDonald’s packaging.
Supporting animal welfare
As one of the biggest restaurant chains in the UK, we use our size to make a positive impact on the way animals are treated. We only deal with suppliers who meet our high standards.
Supporting local services
If approved, our new restaurant will generate around £60,000 in business rates (per year) for Stockport Council to help fund key local services.
