A new McDonald’s for Castle Road, Ellon

We are pleased to announce a new Planning Application has been submitted (February 2024) for our proposals for a new McDonald’s restaurant for Castle Road, Ellon.

Aberdeenshire Council are currently running a consultation and we are asking for your support to help make our vision a reality.

By submitting a letter of support on Aberdeenshire Council’s Planning Portal you can make sure your voice is heard.

The new restaurant will develop the current vacant land adjacent to the Tesco Petrol Station on Castle Road, providing local jobs and economic investment. Our proposals include:

• Around 100 new, much needed jobs (FTE), including career progression for people of all ages and backgrounds.
• Increased investment in the area, as well as approximately £50,000 to £60,000 per year in business rates payable on the new restaurant to Aberdeenshire Council for them to spend on the provision of key local services.
• Substantial local investment of around £4million into Aberdeenshire, helping support the local economic recovery from Covid-19.
• The new restaurant will also undertake community engagement and activities, such as supporting a programme of community sponsorship and volunteering in Ellon.
