McDonald’s is bringing forward plans to redevelop land previously occupied by Buffet Island, off Queslett Road, with a new restaurant and drive-thru.

Our latest economic impact report report showed that McDonald’s contributes around £341 million to the East of England regional economy.

Supporting local jobs

McDonald’s provides 1,142 jobs in our restaurants across Norwich, and 15,983 jobs in the East of England.

Creating new jobs

Our new Drive-Thru restaurant will create approximately 120 new jobs, in a range of full and part time roles.

Keeping the local area tidy

We have organised a number of community litter pick in Norwich, collecting over 40 bags of rubbish.

If approved, we will undertake a minimum of three daily litter picks at our new Drive-Thru to collect all litter in the vicinity, not just McDonald’s packaging.

Supporting local sports clubs

We are proud to sponsor a number of sports clubs across Norwich, including Norwich Rugby Club and Wymondham Rugby Football Club.

Supporting local services

If approved, our new Drive-Thru restaurant will generate between £50,000 and £60,000 in business rates (per year) for Norwich City Council to help fund key local services.
